Position Summary
The Laboratory Technician position will provide support to Department of Defense (DoD) and (United States Government) USG sponsored projects over a capability area centered on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and/or Nuclear (CBRN) defense. This position will provide direct support for NSRI/UNL collaborative research programs. Responsibilities will include facilitation of projects focused on NSRI fellows efforts, specifically involving projects for fellows Professor Rebecca Lai. Specific duties to include but not limited to: conducting experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of new products and processes for electrochemical sensors. 
This position is funded by a 1-year contract. Follow-on employment will be contingent on contract renewal. Primary place of duty will be Lincoln, NE. Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required depending on project needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct laboratory experiments to support research initiatives
• Develop test methods and experimental design for assigned tasks
• Maintain specifications, test reports, and general documentation
• Collaborate directly with team members to develop and execute project plans, timelines, and strategies to facilitate successful completion of project goals
• Other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• BS degree in chemical engineering or chemistry from an accredited university or college
• Experienced in working as a part of a multi-functional team in a chemical laboratory
• Dependable with a positive attitude and good attendance
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with capillary electrophoresis
• Experience with the SELEX process for aptamers
• Current DoD security clearance
